Definition

EN

density of incident radiant flux with respect to area at a point on a real or imaginary surface, expressed by

E e = d Φ e d A

where Φ e is radiant flux (radiant flux) and A is the area (ISO 80000-3: Space and time) on which the radiant flux is incident

FR

E e = d Φ e d A

Notes

EN

The corresponding photometric quantity is "illuminance" (illuminance). The corresponding quantity for photons is "photon irradiance" (photon irradiance).

The quantity "spherical irradiance" is defined by the mean value of irradiance on the outer curved surface of a very small (real or imaginary) sphere at a point in space.

It can be expressed by

E e , 0 = ∫ 4 π L e d Ω

where Ω is solid angle (ISO 80000-3: Space and time) and L e is radiance (radiance).

(See cie017,locality:term="17-21-054".)

It can be expressed by the quotient of the radiant flux (radiant flux) of all the radiation incident on the outer surface of an infinitely small sphere centred at the specified point and the area (ISO 80000-3: Space and time) of the diametrical cross-section of that sphere.

Spherical irradiance is also called "fluence rate" or "radiant fluence rate".

The corresponding photometric quantity to spherical irradiance is called "spherical illuminance".

FR

E e , 0 = ∫ 4 π L e d Ω

où Ω est l'angle solide (ISO 80000-3: Space and time) et L e est la luminance énergétique (radiance).

(Voir cie017,locality:term="17-21-054".)
